Attendance Information
Hollyfast seeks to ensure that all its pupils receive a full-time education which maximises opportunities for each pupil to realise his/her potential. The school will strive to provide a welcoming, caring environment, whereby each member of the school community feels wanted and secure. All school staff will work with pupils and their families to ensure each pupil attends school regularly and punctually.
It is very important that we know if your child is not at school. Please contact the school office and let us know as soon as you can.
Absences can be reported by calling the school office or by sending an email to absences@hollyfast.coventry.sch.uk
When do I keep my child at home?
Children get ill from time to time, and we understand this.
If your child has an infectious illness and has antibiotics this usually, means that, your child will not return to school until any antibiotics are finished and they are fit for school.
For sickness and diarrhoea, please ensure that your child is free from symptoms for at least 24 hours for sickness, and 48 hours for diarrhoea before they return to school.
If you are not sure if your child can attend school, please contact the school office and we will be happy to help answer any questions.
Medication
Where possible parents should arrange for dose frequencies, which enable medicine to be taken outside of the school day. However, we can accept medicines that have been prescribed by a doctor and are required to be taken 4 times a day. Medicines should be provided in the original container, names and instructions. A consent form must be filled in, please see a member of the admin team in the main office.
Holidays
Holidays are not permitted during term time and schools are not permitted to authorise holidays except in exceptional circumstances. If there are exceptional reasons why you would like to take your children out of school during term time, please request an application form from the school office.
